Exemption rules and forms

An exemption is a deviation from ordinary rules and is only granted in extraordinary cases (e.g. illness). You can find the general AAU rules for exemptions via these links in both Danish and English.

Via the links above, you will also find a list of the types of exemptions you can apply for. Remember to check the specifics regarding the ENG, TECH and MEDICIN (SUND in Danish) faculties.

Case processing Time

The time for processing exemption applications will vary depending on the individual case. The applications are processed continousely, however, you must expect at least 14 days of case processing. During the processing, the study board migth contact you for further information or claritification regarding your application. Some applications will not fit into our standard principles for processing exemptions, and in such cases, the application will be reviewed on a next study board meeting. In such a case, you must expect more than 14 days of case processing.
